V polovici mesiaca jún Arcidiecézna charita Košice otvorila Centrum podpory pre ukrajinských utečencov v Košiciach, ktoré sídli na Moyzesovej 24. Podobne ako v ďalších troch Centrách podpory v Prešove, Snine a Michalovciach, aj tu pracujú 5 humanitárni pracovníci a 3 psychológovia. Okrem psychickej podpore, záujmových workshopov, ľudia nachádzajú v centre humanitárnu pomoc v podobe potravinovej aj nepotravinovej podpory. Od prvých dní svojho fungovania aktívne organizuje rôzne aktivity pre deti aj dospelých.

Psychologická podpora
Psychológovia denne poskytujú individuálne psychologické konzultácie od 8.00 do 16.00 hod. Ľudia, ktorí potrebujú tento typ podpory, sa vopred zaregistrujú a dohodnú si čas konzultácie s psychológmi.
Humanitárna podpora
Od pondelka do stredy v dopoludňajších hodinách sa ľudia môžu registrovať a žiadať o humanitárnu pomoc. V popoludňajších hodinách zamestnanec skladu spracuje žiadosti formulárov a pripraví potravinové balíky. Štvrtok počas dňa je deň výdajne humanitárnej pomoci, ktorú si žiadatelia môžu vyzdvihnúť v čase od 8:00 – 16:00 hodiny.
Podporné aktivity, workshopy
- Každú STREDU – 15.30-16.30 – skupinová aktivita „Priestor pre nápady“– modelovanie z hliny pre deti od 7 do 9 rokov.
- Každú STREDU – 17.00-18.00 – kurz strečingu pre deti, mládež a ženy.
- Každý ŠTVRTOK -15.30-16.30 – arteterapeutický tréning „Mommy’s Sun“ a cvičenia pre mamičky a deti vo veku 2-5 rokov.
- Každý PIATOK – 17.00-18.00 – hodina tanca Zumba pre mamičky a tínedžerov.

Support Centre in Kosice, a week full of activities
14 June 2022 Archdiocesan Charity of Kosice opened the Support Centre for Ukrainian refugees in Kosice (Moyzesova Street 24). Like in the other three Support Centres (in Presov, Snina and Michalovce) there are also 5 humanitarian workers and 3 psychologists working here. Despite psychological support, here in this centre people can also receive humanitarian aid (food and non-food items) as there is also a humanitarian aid warehouse functioning here. Since the first days of its functioning, the Support Centre in Kosice has been actively organizing different activities both for children and adults.
On the everyday basis psychologists provide individual psychological consultations from 8.00 a.m. to 4 p.m. People who need this type of support register beforehand and agree the time for consultation with psychologists.
From Monday till Wednesday (included) people can register and apply for the humanitarian aid (09.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.); in the afternoon a warehouse employee processes the form sheet applications and prepares the boxes with the needed items. And on Thursday (8.00 a.m. – 12.00, 14.00-16.00) the appliers (around 70 people) can receive this aid at the humanitarian aid warehouse.
- Each Wednesday – 15.30-16.30 – there is a group activity called “Space for Ideas” – modelling clay activity for children from 7 to 9 years old.
- Wednesday – 17.00-18.00 – Stretching class organized for children, youth and women.
- Every Thursday – 15.30-16.30 – there is an art-therapeutic training called “Mommy’s Sun” and physical exercises (body practices), organized for mothers and children of 2-5 years’ age.
- Each Friday – 17.00-18.00 – there is a Zumba dancing class organized for mothers and teenagers.
There is also a social worker being employed in the Centre. This employee provides information on health care (hospitals addresses), labour government and governmental support for refugees.
